Steve Furr Wins Elite Top Dragster World Championship Title!

Steve Furr, 2x PDRA Elite Top Dragster and 5x IHRA Champion

Steve Furr had a great finish to the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) Racing season at Virginia Motorsports Park on Sunday, October 22. Steve came into the race needing to just win the first round to lock the World championship in Elite Top Dragster. Steve and team were fortunate enough to do that and then went on to finish their third win of the season. Pictured below is Steve receiving the trophy, presented  by Laris Motorsports Insurance, PDRA Elite Top Dragster sponsor. Steve is a two-time winner, winning in 2020 and again in 2023.

Steve is a two-time PDRA champion, winning in 2020 and again in 2023 plus five International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) championships.


Steve Furr Clutches World Champion Title Two Years in a Row as PDRA's Elite Top Dragster


Steve Furr has a long history of wins with both his Right Trailers '13 American dragster in the Elite Top Dragster Class and with his '68 Camero in the Super Gas Class. Earlier this year, Steve Furr won Elite Top Dragster at the East Coast Nationals at Galot Motorsports Park on April 4, 2023.

Steve Furr heads up our engineering and technical services team. Steve has been employed with Viance, LLC since 1988 and was appointed Director of Engineering and Technical Services in 2012. Steve began his career with Chemical Specialties in 1988 as an engineering assistant while still in college and became a full-time engineer after graduation in 1990. He worked in various positions including Plant Engineer, Plant Maintenance, Wood Treatment Engineer (working as a CSI engineer for WoodTec), and was promoted in 2012 to Director of Engineering in order to focus on customer treating facilities.

Steve earned a Bachelor of Science degree (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
